In a storied career, Tara VanDerveer has established herself as one of the top coaches in the history of collegiate and international women’s basketball, and been inducted into both the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (2011) and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (2002).
Mala Batra joined Aspire in 2011 and has managed various functions including strategy, growth, and operations – overseeing the launch of six new schools, designing the organization’s strategic planning process, and leading Aspire through the selection process of Memphis as the its first expansion city outside of California.
With the belief that there is no limit to what children can achieve, Supna advises and guides Shay and his team of kid do-gooders to think out of the box and set the bar high. Supna is also on the board of Concept Hotels and holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berekeley.

Akshaan has been involved in every Alley-Oop Kids project since the beginning, back when he was only a 5th grader. He devotes his time and heart to basketball both personally and to spread the joy to other kids.
Marisa is so proud of Alley-Oop's successes over the years, having witnessed its early accomplishments when Shay was a student in her classroom. During her career as an educator, Marisa served as director of Community Engagement at Menlo School and has since launched a consulting and coaching brand to support the manifestation of desired outcomes for non-profits and individuals alike. Marisa is grateful that her passions and talents intersect in a way that supports the optimal growth of Alley-Oop.

Amit Ahuja is the Vice President of Ecosystem Development at Adobe where he is responsible for building and managing strategic partnerships and initiatives.
Passionate from a very young age about basketball, Shay Patel is constantly striving for athletic excellence while playing for Esface (AAU) and for Menlo School. Shay is even more passionate about helping other kids, local and far, get the same sports experiences and gear he has.
Rishan is a sports nut (particularly baseball) and businessman with a social conscious. Over the years, he has perfected his family’s secret chocolate chip cookie recipe, “Love Cookies,” and sells them several times a year along with his friends to raise funds for Alley-Oop Kids.
